Job Description

PCI is seeking a Safety Representative for its Washington,DC operations based in Ashburn,VA. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel.
  • Assist branch / site with the implementation and administration of the company’s accident prevention plan, policies and procedures. Including safety resources such as training, expertise and guidance.
  • Represent PCI and participate in Safety Committee activities
  • Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
  • Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations.
  • Council and coach workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards.
  • Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.
  • Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site.
  • Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of plant site and corporation.
  • Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).

This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a construction safety related field.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time. 
  • Local to the area
  • OSHA 30

Preferred Requirements:

  • Additional OSHA Certifications
  • Bilingual
