Job Description

Performance Contracting, Inc. seeks an Estimator in Woodinville, WA to perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects (30% of the time). S/he will establish labor productivities for estimates and will maintain relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing (30%). S/he will solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of the group, and s/he will be expected to understand market conditions, including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages (10%). S/he will be involved in internal bid reviews with supervisors and the project team (10%), and s/he will participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations (10%). S/he will contract administration for secured projects, prepare wage and benefit schedules, and assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team (10%). This position entails travel up to 15% of the time.


The position of Estimator requires a Bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a closely related construction-based field plus 2 years of professional experience in the job offered or a related construction estimation or construction science position. The applicant must have:


  1. 2 years of professional experience interpreting specifications and drawings for scope of work construction projects;
  2. 2 years of professional experience using construction estimating techniques, software, and databases associated with bidding processes; and
  3. 2 years of professional experience reviewing and interpreting blue prints, building codes, technical specifications, and constructability elements.
